Stamford Rodeo

This past weekend Jason and my family made a trip up to Stamford Tx to see my brother participate in the rodeo. This is Kyle's first big rodeo and so I think we were all a little nervous! He had registered himself in Double Mugging. For all of you who are like "What is Double Mugging?" Well there are two cowboys, one ropes the steer and then they basically have to go and tackle the steer, get him down, tie his feet, and the steer has to stay down for 6 seconds or so.
So here are Kyle and his partner Josh ready to do their event. The steer comes out and Kyle ropes the steer but catches his leg so they get a "No Time" rules say that they have to rope the steer's head. We are still proud of him and he did a great job!

Trip to Colorado.

Well I am finally back in Amarillo and ready to start blogging again! We had a wonderful time in Colorado and were sad to come home but here is some of the fun stuff that we did!

The first day we got there we went to a place called Piney River Adventures. It was so beautiful there and there were so many things that you could do. For example hiking, fishing, canoeing, jeep tours, and horse back riding. I would highly recommend going there for a nice relaxing vacation!

While we were there we also took a tour of the Betty Ford Botanical Gardens! The flowers and the scenery in the gardens was beautiful. Their flowers look so much better in Colorado than they do in Texas!

The second day we decided we would go shopping down in the village. Well the shopping was good but the weather was not! It rained almost the entire day! At 4:00 they have free gondola rides up to the top of the mountain and the sun had just come out so we were just standing around waiting for 4:00 to roll around. While we were waiting the funniest thing happened. A man in a picture frame pretending to be Mona Lisa walked up to us and started talking to us. Poor Jason was mortified because he happened to be the one standing next to him, so he was the one that got picked on! He was a great sport about it and we all thought the guy was hilarious!
After the Mona Lisa man left poor Jason alone we went to the top of the mountain on the gondola. It was really pretty up top and a great spot for picture taking! :)

The next day was probably the most exciting and adventurous! We got up that morning and all the kids went mountain biking, (well kinda) then at 2:00 we went white water rafting, and after we got back to the house Terry and Jason went rock climbing while the rest of us watched down below. :)
Your probably thinking "This is adventurous" but trust me this was the easy part! White water rafting is so much fun though if you haven't ever been you should definitely make it a point to!

This trip was awesome we had so much fun hanging out together and relaxing! I feel so blessed to have two families that are so loving and caring! I cant wait to go back!
